Flooding on the Mississippi River has had its impact on Marion County. Outflow on Lake Red Rock had decreased significantly, beginning April 19, resulting in lake water covering portions of five Marion County gravel roads. Lake levels crested at 757 feet on May 6, and are now receding. Current levels are 756 feet. Tom Wadle with the Marion County Roads department says that given that the water has risen and will fall slowly, he anticipates little damage to the gravel roadways, though time will tell. The normal pool level for the lake is 742 feet.
