A local high school student is one of a select few who will go abroad this summer to try and ease world hunger. Sara Brandsen, a junior at Pella Christian, will be traveling to China to intern at China Agricultural University to study corn and cotton for 60 days this summer. She says she’s looking forward to learning about a field she hasn’t had much experience in, and also to experience some of the Chinese culture. The internships are a part of the World Food Prize Borlaug-Ruan International program, and were awarded to 18 students from seven states.
