The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe First Responders and the Iowa State Patrol responded to a one vehicle accident on Highway 163 approximately 2 miles east of Monroe shortly before 1 pm Friday.
Initial reports from witnesses indicate the vehicle was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle, settling in the ditch on the north side of the road after apparently overcorrecting.
