It is hard to believe, but the baseball season begins tomorrow for many of our area teams. Knoxville will open its 2011 schedule against Des Moines Christian. Des Moines Christian has a Knoxville connection as the Lions are coaches by Derek Flack who was a standout player for the Panthers. Knoxville’s annual scrimmage Friday night was cancelled due to rain. The Panthers are trying to make another run to the state tournament. Knoxville got to the semi-finals of the class three-A state last season.
