The Marion County Attorney’s Office is having success with a program designed to keep middle school and high school students in school. The Truancy Outreach Program identified students and families that were in danger of violating the law requiring children to be at school and tried to help them. Marion County Attorney Ed Bull said that 93% of the families that were identified were successfully assisted. Bull says that they are looking forward to expanding the number of families they work with next year. The Attorney’s office took on this program in addition to the 197 cases that they’ve filed since the beginning of the year.
