The Pride of Iowa Conference is doing something a little different for their baseball and softball games this season. Instead of the normal J-V/Varsity double headers, they are playing varsity first. Pleasantville Athletic Director Tim Korselman said it had been talked about for a few years but finally was voted on by the 12 A-D’s in the conference. Trojans Baseball Coach Sheldon Card says it give the smaller schools a chance to play a varsity game and still have the option of using some of their player for the J-V game after. Softball Coach Robert Friday says while the players may not like it much, it does cause the girls to be ready right away. Both coaches also agree that it also affords teams of getting their game in when weather is a concern.
