The Rural History Buffs of Marion County have placed their first two historic road signs. The Stringtown Road sign now hangs on both sides of G40 near Pleasantville. It was named Stringtown Road because as you used to drive the road, the farms appeared to be strung together. The Long Lane sign hangs up on G76. It was named that because of the long straight away it has. This is the first of many signs designating historic rural locations that the group plans to put up. They’ll not just focus on roads, but also old towns, coal mines, and other various locations. They are always looking for new members.
