The office of Senator Chuck Grassley reported Monday afternoon that Knoxville Municipal Airport is among one of twenty-four Iowa airports receiving a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration. Knoxville’s airport will receive over 107-thousand dollars to rehabilitate the airport’s access road. The grant is distributed through the Airport Improvement Program that is run by the FAA. Grassley, a Republican, says that the funding is intended to increase the safety and efficiency of airports.
