As we head into the middle of summer, many people will spend time out on the lake or camping in the woods. Lots of farmers, however, are spending their time cutting and bailing hay and getting ready for the harvest in the fall. Tom DeBruin, the service manager at Barker Implement, says that they see a lot of hay mowers and hay balers in the shop right now. He comments that a lot of what they’re fixing, particularly on the mowers, is partially a result of neglect. He adds that everyone should be sure to get their combines inspected before putting them out in the fields for the fall. DeBruin says they do combine inspections year-round.
