The Knoxville Recreation Center is starting to move through the first phases of an expansion project. Brandon Nemmers, director of the Rec Center, says that the expansion would include expanding the parking lot and adding a new, multi-purpose athletic field by the Rec Center. The city council approved a bid for engineering services last week, and Nemmers is hoping to start moving dirt by the end of this year. He says that he hopes that the field will be ready by fall 2012.
