The Iowa Transportation Commission has approved funding of over $75,000 to Knoxville Municipal Airport for fiscal year 2012. The money comes from through the State Aviation Program. It will be used to help cover expenses of an $89,000 project to rehabilitate the runway. The State Aviation Program supplements local and federal funding sources, seeking to maintain a safe and balanced statewide air transportation system.
