If it could go wrong for the Knoxville Baseball Squad last night, it did. The Panthers were limited by the 14 strikeouts by Centerville Pitcher Richard England, plus the Panthers committed seven errors and fell to the Big Reds 12-0 in the class 3A District title game. The game was ended in the sixth inning due to the ten-run rule. Knoxville’s two hits were by Justin Katich who led off the bottom of the first with a single. Knoxville would not get a runner on base until the fifth inning when Kellen Glover singled and Jacob Cunningham drew a walk. The only other Knoxville base runner of the night was Eric Jones who drew a walk in the sixth. Lance Daugherty took the loss going three innings giving up five runs on six hits, no walks and five strikeouts. Glover and Kevin Woodhouse came in to pitch in relief. Knoxville ends its season at 14-18.
