Residents in the Knoxville Community School District will see their property taxes rise $1.10 per $1000 for fiscal year 2012. Dr. Randy Flack, Superintendant of the Knoxville Community School District, says that the State Office of Management took away some of the property tax equity funding, to the surprise of many across the state. That represents 50 cents of that $1.10.NWS1101 Flack says that the 0% allowable growth set by the state for education this year was part of the reason for the remaining 60 cents.
