A fire early Monday morning resulted in some damage to the upstairs and attic of a house in Knoxville. At around 6am Monday, Knoxville Fire and Rescue and Knoxville Rural Fire and Rescue responded to a call about smoke emitting from a house at 609 West Main St. Knoxville Deputy Fire Chief Greg Higginbotham says that when they arrived, they discovered a large amount of smoke and flames coming from a closet upstairs, as well as the attic. They were able to contain the blaze to that part of the house. There were no injuries as there was no one home at the time. Higginbotham says all the pets were ok as well. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
