The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in special session yesterday morning to discuss road and bridge projects and financing. County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum told the Board of Supervisors last week that there were close to ten bridges across the county that had 1-3 years left in their life span. In yesterday’s meeting, they went over some of the bridges in greater detail. Schletzbaum recommended that the Supervisors approve closure of a couple of the bridges that see very low traffic and spend parts of the summer underwater due to Lake Red Rock. This would help save money he says, and they could come back to these bridges later to fix them as more funds became available.
