The Pella Historical Village is one of many tourist attractions in Pella, and as such, accounts for a substantial amount of positive economic activity. Bonnie Verberg, Director of the Vermeer Windmill, says in the 12 months between June 2010 and 2011, more than 16,000 people toured the village, which doesn’t even count Tulip Time. Multiply that by an average of more than $200 spent by each visitor, and it’s easy to see how important the Village is to Pella’s economy. Verberg says they always have openings for volunteers.
