After the loss of the Austin Houser to graduation last season, Knoxville Football Coach Troy Rider was looking for a kicker. He found his man by going to Knoxville soccer matches last spring. He says Erik Ryan has been working well with kicking the oblong pigskin as well as his efforts at kicking a sphere during the spring. Ryan is also a cross country runner, and Rider and Cross Country coach Mike Moats are working to let Ryan do both sports. Rider says Justin Garrison will be the punter. He says Garrison probably will not have the leg that Ty Dunkin had as Dunkin averaged over 40 yards per punt. Rider says they are planning to do some different things on punt coverage to negate returns.
