The Governor’s Transportation 2020 Citizens Advisory Commission will be coming to Des Moines Wednesday night. It is one of seven meetings taking place across the state to seek public input about the current conditions of Iowa’s public roadway system and the importance of roads to Iowans. Marion County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum says that these meetings are important in helping the state determine funding levels for Iowa’s Road Use Tax Fund. The Des Moines meeting is the closest of the seven state-wide meetings to Marion County. It’ll take place at the downtown Embassy Suites at 6pm.
