About 50 people gathered at the Melcher-Dallas High School cafeteria last night to hear the opinions of the eight school board candidates on a variety of subjects. The eight candidates discussed what they felt were issues in the school district, such as declining enrollment, communication issues among the administration, school board, and citizens, and faculty conduct. The candidates praised the teachers in the district, citing improved test scores, and they said that they wanted to improve the marketability of the school district as to limit open enrollment.
