Knoxville Schools Business Manager Craig Mobley delivered the district’s financial report for Fiscal Year 2011 at this week’s school board meeting. Mobley says that the district is in a better position financially than it was last year. That can be attributed to the fact that there wasn’t a 10% cut across the board from the state this year. Mobley says that the district’s major challenge in future years will be to make sure that each and every year, there is a true balanced budget. This will be tough, he says, as expenses continue to increase, even as the current economy in the state and nation continues to struggle.
