What’s in the box? That’s the question many will be asking before kickoff of Knoxville’s homecoming game Friday evening. In a special event surrounding the homecoming festivities, a time capsule from 1916 will be opened. The time capsule was located in the cornerstone of the old Knoxville Junior High and High School building that was recently demolished. It’s scheduled to be opened at 6:30 at Ken Locke Stadium. In 1916, an item that cost a dollar would cost over $22 now. Woodrow Wilson was president, and Dixie Gebhardt had yet to create what would become the State Flag of Iowa.
