Knoxville Middle School received the highest honor a school can receive as part of the HealthierUS School Challenge yesterday. USDA Deputy Under Secretary Janey Thornton presented the school with the Gold of Distinction Honor in recognition of the team nutrition and total fitness concepts staff has put together for the school. Physical Education, Health, and Lunch personnel were all recognized for their efforts. Knoxville Middle School is one of just two schools in the state to receive this top honor.
