Pheasant season is set to begin this Saturday. Ken Kenyon, with the Department of Natural Resources, says that the pheasant numbers are pretty low again this year, but he expects a larger crowd. He says that faster-than-average corn and soybean harvest will bring a few more hunters to the fields this year as compared to last, but the low pheasant numbers means that it still won’t be anything like 10-15 years ago. Kenyon reminds hunters that you must wear at least one article of clothing that’s 50% blaze orange, and that more is great. He also says to remember your zone to fire, and not to get over anxious.
