The Knoxville Fire Department is teaming with KNIA/KRLS to have a food drive that will go directly to Helping Hands Food Pantry in Knoxville. Knoxville Fire Chief Mike Roberts says that he received the idea after talking to Helping Hands representative Chuck Galeazzi. Galeazzi told Roberts that more and more families are in need of food. Roberts said that after talking with the rest of the department, they decided they wanted to help out. Roberts says the best time to drop food off is Monday-Friday, between 8am and 4pm. He asks that all food be non-perishable.
