Facing a highly-touted program with your season on the line sounds like a daunting task, but for the PCM football team, it’s something they’ve been looking forward to all season. On Monday night, the Mustangs take on West Marshall in the Class 2A Quarterfinals. PCM head football coach Greg Bonnett says his team had already thought about the prospects of facing the Trojans very early in the season.

“I think they’re excited. We talked about being in this situation from the beginning of the year,” said Bonnett. “I remember we were watching [game film] from when West Marshall played Madrid, and we were saying ‘wouldn’t it be great if we beat everybody and were playing these guys in the quarterfinals at our house?’ And now here we are. The stage is set for a really great game.”

The two 11-0 teams go head-to-head on Monday night in Monroe. KNIA/KRLS Sports will be there to provide live coverage of all the action between the Mustangs and the Trojans.
