Knoxville Recreation Center Director Brandon Nemmers tells KNIA/KRLS News the expanded parking lot could be open sometime next week. The Rec Center has started a grounds project, which, in addition to the expanded parking, will include a new multi-purpose field that would be capable of hosting youth events, such as soccer tournaments. The current expansion of the parking lot has temporarily reduced the normal size of the parking lot. Nemmers says that the sidewalk is in the process of being poured, and the parking lot could be open soon after that.
