Have some unused or expired prescriptions that you’re looking to get rid of? Pleasantville is holding an event Saturday to help people dispose of them properly. Pleasantville Police Chief Joe Mrstik says properly disposing of medications is important. By pouring them down the drain or flushing them down the toilet, he says you risk contaminating the water supply. He adds that getting rid of the medications also ensures that young kids can’t get their hands on them, and keeps teens from experimenting with them. Anyone may drop of their used or expired drugs from 11-2 Saturday at Pleasantville City Hall.
