Like it or not, winter is nearly upon us, which means now is the time to protect trees and shrubs from hungry animals this winter. Sheryl Nunnikhoven with Dutch Meadows Garden Center in Pella says the harder the winter, the more likely deer and rabbits will damage yard plantings. She says diligent application of certain sprays can provide ample production, or homeowners can opt for constructed physical barriers and tree wraps.
