The person who died in last week’s single-car accident north of Melcher-Dallas has yet to be officially identified. DNA evidence is now being used to identify the deceased person, and Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Mark Stine says it’ll be awhile longer before they can make the official identification. The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene of a car accident late last Thursday night after the car they were driving struck a bridge railing at White Breast creek and caught fire. The State Medical Examiner in Ankeny is working to confirm the identity of the deceased.
