A year older and more experienced, the still very young Twin Cedars boys basketball team takes to the court tonight against Wayne hoping to avenge an ugly loss to the Falcons in last year’s season debut. In that contest in Corydon, the Sabers were held to just 18 points, while Wayne racked up 72 points of their own.

Twin Cedars head coach Alan Stewart says his team is much more prepared this time around.

“Last year Wayne just ran circles around us. We had three freshmen starting that night – they were really nervous. This year they’re not going to be that nervous. They understand the game a little better,” says Stewart.

“Wayne’s going to be in for a battle. They might be more physical than we are, but we’re going to be just as fast as they are. Our boys are looking forward to it. We’re going to give it all we’ve got and see what happens.”

It’s the first game of the season for both the Sabers girls and boys teams, with the ladies tipping-off the double-dip at 6:15 p.m. at Twin Cedars High School.
