The Ron Peterson Era for the Knoxville Wrestling program began last night with a difficult loss to Grinnell 40-35. The Panthers held a 35-28 lead going into the final two weight classes, however the Tigers got two pins to win by the five point total. Knoxville got seven wins, four by pin as Skylar Cunningham, Jay Fresh, Lane Colwell, and Colton Spaur won by fall. Tyler Chatterton, Aaron Crossett, and Kiernan Robuck all won by either a major or minor decision. Coach Ron Peterson said he was pleased overall by the effort of the guys. He adds there are several things to work before the next time on the mats which will be Saturday at the Newton Invitational.
