The Marion County Sheriff’s office reports that at approximately 12 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011, Amy Marie DeGoey, age 26 of Des Moines, was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail where she was being held on the charge of Operating while Intoxicated.

At approximately 6 a.m. Ms. DeGoey was found unresponsive in her cell. Knoxville Rescue was paged and she was transported to Knoxville Hospital E.R. where she passed away.

The death remains under investigation. No cause of death has been released. KNIA/KRLS will provide more information as soon as it becomes official.
