Harvey Mayor Dennis Siebert says that the decision to delay closing rural post offices until at least May is a good sign for smaller communities. Siebert told KNIA/KRLS News that he thinks that this will give rural communities a chance to get their finances in order and work with the government to perhaps make a deal to keep their post offices open. The post offices in Hamilton, Harvey, and Otley have all been proposed to be shut down due to budget issues at the post office. Siebert says that all they can do is continue to work to keep their post office open and hope for the best.
