If you are hosting guests this weekend, you’re going to want to have your house looking its best. That includes your special winter plants, such as poinsettias. Karen Ackley, with the Marion County Extension Office, says the most important thing to remember with poinsettias is to not overwater them. She recommends taking the foil off your plant and watering it in the sink. She says to let it sit for a couple hours before putting the foil back on, and then let it dry completely before watering again. She says poinsettias are poisonous to animals. Keep them out of reach of any pets you or your guests may have.
