New councilman Tim Pitt was sworn in during the regular meeting of the Knoxville City Council last night. Pitt replaces Bob Wims, who received a presentation of service award. Wims served on the Knoxville City Council for eight years. Pitt begins serving in January. Mayor Don Zoutte and Councilwomen Carolyn Formanek and April Verwers also took their oaths of office. During the business part of the meeting, the Council approved a new parking ordinance that deems hard-surfaced parking areas established in the right-of-way of residential properties as private parking for that resident.
