The Sunday fire at the Marion County Department of Human Services building is now being listed as suspicious. At approximately 6AM Sunday, the Knoxville Rural Fire Department was called to a fire at the DHS building. According to Knoxville Rural Fire Chief Kenny Thompson, a Deputy driving by spotted smoke coming out of the rear of the building. The deputy and fire department were able to put out the fire relatively quickly. Thompson says that damage was confined to one room. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Many Marion County DHS services were moved to the Indianola office last year. That office burned to the ground December 4. KNIA/KRLS News will bring you more information as soon as it becomes official.
