The first baby of the year was born in Knoxville on New Year’s Day. Alexis Renea is the daughter of Katie Clayton of Carlisle and Derek Thompson of Knoxville. Alexis weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces at birth. Maternal grandparents are Debbie and John Meek, and Scott and Carol Reed. Paternal grandparents are Paul and Anita Thompson. Alexis was welcomed home by her big sister Alivia Paige Clayton. Helping Katie and Derek bring Alexis into the world was OB/GYN Dr. Mitchell Khan.
