The City of Pella is upgrading its warning siren system. The upgrade is due to a mandate by the FCC that requires narrowbanding by the year 2013. The Pella warning system consists of eight warning sirens placed around Pella. The siren equipment was dismantled early this month to start the upgrade process, and is expected to be non-functional for approximately 8 weeks. During this time there will likely be no monthly warning siren tests. The Pella PD will let the public know when testing will resume.
