A press conference was held yesterday morning that provided more information on the investigation into the disappearance of Sharon Ruth Hopf of Crawfordsville. Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar says based on the recent searches of the area around where her vehicle was found, there is no evidence that foul play is involved in Hopf’s disappearance.

Sheriff Dunbar and Special Agent Jeff Uhlmeyer with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation suggest that Hopf’s disappearance was of her own doing. However, they along with law enforcement agencies in Missouri will continue to pursue all avenues of investigation.

Hopf’s family read a statement saying they want her to know that they understand the stress she has recently been under and want her to contact them and let them know she is ok.
If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Hopf, you are asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office or Warren County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office. KNIA/KRLS will continue to monitor this story and will bring you any updates as they become official. Hopf has ties to Knoxville with family in the area.
