Knoxville High School Principal Kevin Crawford recently reported to the school board that a number of students have been taking advantage of opportunities to receive college credit while in high school. The high school is able to offer credit in some classes where teachers have appropriate credentials, such as advanced chemistry and calculus. Other students take classes at the Knoxville Hospital or online during the school day. Overall, students have combined to sign up for nearly 300 classes that can be counted for college credit. Crawford says it’s a great opportunity for students to get ahead early before college.
