A number of members of the Knoxville community will be honored during the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet Saturday night. Chamber Director Larissa Van Donselaar says that they’re keeping most of the award winners a secret until the banquet starts. One winner that has been announced is the Humanitarian Award. Jim and Angie Uitermarkt and the Knoxville girls’ basketball team will receive that honor for their efforts in organizing the Coaches vs Cancer event. Aaron Thomas, the son of the late Aplington-Parkersburg football coach Ed Thomas, will be the guest speaker.
