Pella Police Department Weekly Police Report
01/29/12 to 02/04/12
During the week of January 29, 2012 to February 4, 2012, the Pella Police Department received
114 calls for service, issued 33 citations, 43 warnings, 45 parking tickets and arrested 5 people
resulting in 7 charges.
COMMUNICATION CENTER WEEKLY STATS
During the week of January 29, 2012 to February 4, 2012, the communications center fielded
225 telephone calls, assisted 52 people at the window, and fielded 42 incoming calls on the 911
system.
ARRESTS
• On 01/29/12 a juvenile of Pella was charged with criminal mischief. He was cited and
released to a parent.
• On 01/30/12 Timothy M. Maggard, 19, of Pella was charged with possession of drug
paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Timothy was cited and released with a court
date.
• On 02/02/12 Brian O. Berry, 34, of Pella was charged with interference with official acts.
Brian was incarcerated for the night.
• On 02/03/12 Dawn L. Chambers, 36, of Oskaloosa was charged with driving while
revoked and operating while intoxicated. Dawn was incarcerated for the night.
• On 02/04/12 Laura K. Robertston, 36, of New Sharon was charged with driving while
suspended. Laura was cited and released with a court date.
Officer Matt Huston and Lieutenant Paul Haase conducted two training sessions at the Pella
Christian High School on 01/25/12 and 02/01/12. The officers discussed internet safety and
the dangers associated with improper use of cell phones and other social media. The officers
presented to the 9th-12th grade classes.
Officer Orr conducted a Child Safety Seat class for the Pella Regional Health Center Prenatal
Class on 01/31/12. Officer Orr inspected and assisted with installing child seats for the expecting
parents. The class covered different types of seats and how they are to be used, vehicle safety
equipment and how the equipment works with child seats. Officer Orr also spoke about vehicle
crashes and the importance of child safety seat use.
