The Marion County Sheriff’s Office tells KNIA/KRLS that area roadways are partially covered with a glaze of ice and may be slick. Portions of roadways may be clear for a short period and then covered with ice. The Iowa DOT reports that normal winter driving conditions exist. County and state crews are in operation treating area roadways. The Marion County Secondary Roads Department tells KNIA/KRLS that roadways in the southern part of the county are in worse shape than those in the northern part of the county. The Marion County Sheriff’s office urges drivers to be cautious this morning, take plenty of time, and give our road crews and first responders plenty of room to work.
