Central College’s Singfest is Thursday night. The annual choir program features kids from high schools all over Iowa, many of whom come from the Marion County area. Students from Pella will be there, as well as students from Pleasantville, Melcher-Dallas and other area schools. The singers will come to Central College to practice and take lessons during the day, and at 7:00 PM they will perform together in free concert at Dowstra Auditorium. Professor Mark Babcock tells KNIA/KRLS News that one of the primary goals for Singfest is to show high school kids what its like if they stick with singing. He says that the day will be about all styles of group songs.
