Planned Parenthood of the Heartland has announced that their Knoxville location will be one of three sites closing in an effort to consolidate services. President and CEO Jill June says consolidation of the health centers will allow Planned Parenthood to increase their scheduling hours and provide expanded services to their patients. The Knoxville location will have its services consolidated with the Newton location. A Planned Parenthood representative tells KNIA/KRLS News that the Knoxville location had inconsistent services and limited hours as it was. The Newton center will be fully functional. Two other Planned Parenthood locations being consolidated are in Storm Lake and Southwest Omaha. June says that patients deserve the best care, and they can help their patients receive that care in a more timely fashion with these consolidations. The consolidation is effective as of today.
