The filing period began yesterday for those interested in pursuing county office. Up for election this year are the seats currently occupied by County Supervisors Sam Nichols and Jim Kingery, County Sheriff Ron Goemaat, and County Auditor Jake Grandia.

Those interested in being placed on the June 5th primary ballet have until March 28th to collect the appropriate amount of signatures and return the petition to the auditor’s office.

Nichols has indicated to KNIA/KRLS News that he will not be seeking re-election, while Kingery and Grandia indicated they would be. Goemaat says he’s not ready to announce yet whether he’ll be running again.
