The year’s first test of the Marion County emergency sirens will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says that they are starting one month earlier this year due to recent weather patterns. The sirens are located at various locations around Marion County, excluding Pella. Pella has its own alarm system. As a reminder, these alarms are not meant to be able to be heard indoors. Anderson says the test probably will last up to three minutes, depending on location. He doesn’t expect any hiccups, but says that’s why the tests are important.
