Clustering their final scores within six strokes of each other, the Pella High boys golf team held off Albia to claim first place in their first meet of the season – a quad at Chariton on Friday night. Lucas Boyd’s 39 earned him medalist honors, and teammate Corey Elliott shot a 40 to tie for runner-up honors, giving the Little Dutch two of the meet’s top finishers. Pella shot a 163 as a team, four strokes in front of Albia and 14 ahead of third-place Knoxville. Up next for the Pella High boys golf team is a triangular with Pella Christian at Norwalk on Monday.
