Thirty-year-old Benjamin Lee Curtis, of Pella, was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted 2nd degree burglary. According to court records, Curtis is accused of attempting to break into an apartment in Pella with the intent to assault a person. Those records state that Curtis was pounding on the door of the apartment and trying to break the door down. Curtis was allegedly verbally threatening the intended victim’s life while attempting to break-in. The door was damaged when police arrived on scene. Curtis is currently in Marion County Jail on $5000 bond. He will appear in court for a preliminary hearing on April 17th.
