Two more Big 12 Pitcher of the Week awards have highlighted an already outstanding season for Pleasantville Native Chelsea Thomas. The University of Missouri softball pitching ace won her second Pitcher of the Week honor this season after last weekend’s effort against then third ranked Texas in winning series two games to one. Thomas says winning the pitcher of the week is quite an honor knowing the level of pitchers that are in the Big 12. It was also just announced that Thomas is among 25 candidates for the 2012 U-S-A Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. The award is considered the most prestigious honor in N-C-A-A Division One College softball. The Player of the Year will be announced at the Women’s College World Series May 29th in Oklahoma City.
